4 Reasons Corporate Team-Building is Important For the Bottom Line

Last week we talked about ways to keep your team connected virtually and grazed upon the ways in which connection fosters better engagement and workplace satisfaction. 

Here’s a quick recap: Feeling engaged in the workplace is the #1 predictor of employee retention and satisfaction; employees who are highly engaged are 87% less likely to leave their company. Corporate team building “builds trust, mitigates conflict, encourages communication, and increases collaboration... means more engaged employees, which is good for company culture and boosting the bottom line.” 

Now, team building boosts the bottom line by:

  • saving money due to increased employee retention – replacing employees is costly, 

  • increasing productivity – employees who are engaged are twice as productive, 

  • and reducing mistakes – team building encourages better communication and a more unified corporate culture. 

In fact, companies can make two and a half times the revenue when they have engaged employees and workplace happiness!

Feeling connected to one another – a common side effect of team building – is also important for workplace wellness and productivity. Connection can influence motivation in work environments, and in fact, belonging and attachment is a more effective motivator than money (say what?) for some people. 

Corporate activities use team building to foster workplace culture; a shared experience is an effective way to connect and bond.
