The Art of Getting Over Yourself: Belonging 101
It’s time to get real about your vision, both personal and professional, and examine how you’re showing up for it. This week, you’ll dive into personalized exercises tailored to your facilitation goals, including self-reflection prompts like, Who are your people, and are they aligned with your purpose? More importantly, are you aligned with theirs?
You’ll also rehearse your upcoming facilitation “performance” solo and explore additional prompts, tips, and marketing best practices. This is your opportunity to integrate your relationship with the outer world (your people) and your inner world (yourself), asking, Does my work feel authentic, or am I stretched thin by “should’s?”

Setting the Stage: P.L.A.Y. Plan
Using my P.L.A.Y. Method as a guide, we’ll map out a new “Belonging Plan” for yourself with various recipes to help you get over yourself and get uplifted.
Here’s where we decide what your “practice” gathering event will look like, and map the course to get there. Understanding the touch points of your community, we’ll work together to optimize them for belonging-sparking in live moments of human connection. -
Performance of Belonging
Connection occurs in your facilitation of it. During week #3, we’ll rehearse your upcoming gathering step-by-step for a real audience of your community members.

After you facilitate your live experience, you’re welcome to book one free additional call to talk about what worked, what didn’t, and how we can refine for the future. Additionally, we’ll address best strategies for you to follow up with attendees to ensure continued engagement and sustained belonging.

Nope! But you do need to be ready to create one. If you’re a facilitator at heart but you’ve yet to “find your people,” this program will help you jump start that process.

Whether you facilitate 1:1 meetings or large group gatherings, the principles of belonging remain true, and the material you’ll hone during this bootcamp will not only help you optimize your meetings and gatherings for engagement, but also personal fulfillment. (I’m here to help you bring joy back into your facilitation work, whatever shape that may be!)

In short, yes. As soon as you begin your program start date (any date you choose!), the program must be completed in 4 weeks and follow the step-by-step timeline listed above. This bootcamp is designed to be both time-sensitive and time-intensive. I have found the 4 weeks is the perfect container for you to not only learn these new concepts and integrate them into your life and work, but also just enough runway to put together the best community-building gathering of your life.

A Note from Eli
Ever since the pandemic, I’ve been mildly…(okay majorly) obsessed with the structure of belonging. See, when quarantine began, I was full-time CEO-ing Drunk Yoga®, and needed to quickly pivot all of our corporate events to virtual. Of course, because the nature of our interactive yoga party game is just that…a game, in order for us to play, it was vital for participants to turn on their Zoom cameras. This was a problem. Doing yoga—especially in front of coworkers virtually from their living room—can feel vulnerable. Unfortunately, at the time, my livelihood (literally) depended on it.
So, I got to researching. What are the essential components of community engagement? What makes humans want to participate within a collective experience (i.e. turn on their Zoom cameras)? After months of reading, inquiring, and trialing a variety of strategies, I unlocked these four fundamental truths:
1) A feeling of belonging is best sparked within live moments of human connection.
2) Community engagement occurs when belonging is felt.
3) Breaking “the rules” sparks belonging; structured play deepens it.
4) The event facilitator is responsible for all of it.
After I discovered the above, I started developing my P.L.A.Y. Method as a recipe to help all facilitators (not just yoga teachers!), lead more engaging gatherings. And, with a newfound appreciation for the incredible power social impact driven leaders and entrepreneurs (like you!) hold in shaping a greater sense of belonging in our modern, isolated world, I created this Bootcamp.
